Merry Christmas

We are so happy and grateful to be able to talk to all of our family for Christmas. It has been a time to reflect on how Mary held and looked at her beautiful baby Jesus as we watch Zeleta grow. Heavenly Father has truly blessed our little family.

My visiting teacher dropped off Baby's First Christmas Santa hat and snowflake PJs Zeleta is wearing. They left it at our door step Christmas Eve. Jeremy said it touched his heart as he watched my visiting teacher and her husband (who are elderly) support each other to not slip on our sidewalk back to the car and the husband opened the car door for her.

Swimming Baby

While Celeste and Tyson were here we took them, Zeleta, and our sweet underwater camera to The Peak for a swim. We were there before water aerobics class started so the ladies could oh and ah over her. Zeleta definitely remembers what to do in the water. :0

Weekend Fun

Well they can't all be nice. Sometimes an angry baby is funny too!

We went to get pictures taken with Santa at a local shop in town, Christy's Boutique. Christy has a great system of getting kids in and out and her shop is super cute. I'm going to take Celeste there when she comes to visit. Zeleta was her usual chill self so photos are soon to come. I took some pictures of Zeleta with a nativity set my mom made for me. I think I'll try again since the wise man between her legs fell down. Also we tried to have her hold baby Jesus and that was a bust. Also, I just now realized that there is a wiseman next to Mary instead of Joseph.  Definitely a re-do.
Zeleta wants to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We babysat our 3 year old pal Faxon on Friday. We took him and Zeleta swimming to try to wear him out. As usual it was just us that got tired. We are really looking forward for when family visits to give them the thrill of taking Zeleta swimming too (hint, hint). Also here's a gold star parenting moment: Faxon's Dad got his car stuck in the snow trying to leave our house, so Jeremy went out to help push, I went out back to get a snow shovel, and I told Faxon (the 3 year old) to watch baby. He did a great job and bounced her "fast" in her bouncer. Now that's responsible parenting.

What did you do?

This is obviously a re-enactment because someone is smiling. During the real event, there were no smiles just lots of questions as to how it was possible for baby to perform such a poopy accomplishment.

Jeremy has all the fun! He was wearing Zeleta in her baby carrier when he put her in the crib. He suddenly wondered why HIS tummy felt wet. Then he looked at the baby.....yellow poop stains on her tummy and down both legs. As the diaper came off more good news, liquid yellow soup every where! We hosed her down in the shower. This is one of my favorites, seeing Jeremy holding Zeleta at arms length while she's naked. Her little legs are all scrunched up with a look of "what did I do? I'm a cute baby" on her face. Jeremy also has a look of "what do I do?" on his face, which looks completely different than Zeleta.

Dr Visit

Today we went to see the Dr. for Zeleta's 2 month checkup and the start of her childhood immunizations. Here she is all bundled up to face the below freezing outdoors.

I LOVE our doctor, Chris Burk. She is the best! She takes the time to talk to us, to talk to Zeleta (she told Zeleta that she would grow up to be a strong woman), and loves her job. Zeleta weighed 11 pounds 12 ounces. Then came to hard part....the shots. Well....hard for Jeremy. The nurse came in and asked who would help her hold Zeleta. Jeremy was standing right next to Z and had a look of "I'll do it" for a split second and then a look of "I DON'T want to"! I told him to watch and that I would do it. Jeremy breathed a sigh of relief. Working in the lab I have no problem holding down Zeleta because it is better when a parent holds their child tight so they don't move so the stick is quick and the arm (or leg in this case) is stable. Zeleta did just what I thought she would. Happy, got stuck, waited two seconds, cried (loudly! that doesn't happen often), then I quickly nursed her and she was happy again. Next check up will be when she is 4 months.

What a trooper! Band aids for her boo-boos.

because I love JELLO!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Card Shark

Family get togethers usually include playing games, especially cards. Here's Zeleta learning from the best how to know when to hold em and when to fold em.

Not a wild one in the bunch!

Learning some moves Auntie Chelsea would be proud of !
